PARISH CATECHETICAL PROGRAMME: Parents / guardians of children attending schools not under the patronage of the Bishop of Meath are reminded that if they wish their children to receive the sacraments of First Penance, First Holy Communion and Confirmation, they must enrol their children in the Parish Catechetical Programme. Enrolment can take place during the summer months and the programme will begin in September. Enrolment forms are available from the Parish Office.

Coming into full communion in the Catholic Church: In the autumn the process of preparation for those wishing to come into full communion in the Catholic Church recommences. The Rite for the Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a period of exploration of the Catholic Faith for adults who may wish to receive the sacraments of Baptism/ First Eucharist/Confirmation. Those who prepare will receive the sacraments at the Easter Vigil 2011. If you or someone you know is interested please contact Fr. Revised Vatican norms on how to examine and punish cases in canon law involving serious sins were published last week. Serious sins are divided into those against Christian morality, such as the sexual abuse of minors and child pornography, which are the greater sins, and those committed during the administration of the Sacraments. Also included in the revised norms is the abuse of vulnerable adults, including those with special needs of any age.

The Baptism Course takes place this Wednesday at 8pm in St. Anne’s Resource Centre. There will be no Course on Wednesday, 4th and Wednesday, 11th August. The Course returns on Wednesday, 18th August.

The Parish Bereavement Support Group provides a listening ear to people who are finding life difficult after the death of a loved one. The group welcomes anyone who has suffered bereavement and is looking for support to their next monthly meeting in the Parish Room of St. Anne’s Resource Centre on Monday at 8 p.m. Anyone who wishes to speak privately to a member or find out extra information can call (046) 9027518.
