170th Anniversary of St Marys Church - January 2009

St. Mary’s Parish is marking the 170th Anniversary of the Church in 2009 with a number of special events throughout the Year.

Schedule:

1. Our Annual Ecumenical Service for Christmas Unity took place on Sunday, 18th January at 7.30pm in St. Anne’s Chapel.  Bishop Richard Clarke, Bishop of Meath and Kildare was the preacher at the ecumenical service.
2. Bishop Michael Smith Parish Priest of Navan, celebrated the Silver Jubilee of his Episcopal Ordination with a Mass on Saturday, 7th February at 6pm in St Mary’s Church. 
3. Senator Ronan Mullen was the guest speaker on 14th February marking St. Valentine Day.  All married couples were invited to attend to renew their marriage vows. The Valentine Mass was on SATURDAY 14th February at 6p.m.
4. The Parish Pilgrimage to the Holy Land took place from 8th – 19th March 2009.
5. Our Parish Jubilee Mission conducted by The Redemptorist Fathers took place from 21st – 28th March incl.
6. The Annual Holy Week Retreat took place from 6th – 8th April and was conducted by Fr. Ronan Drury, Maynooth.
7. The Apostolic Nuncio will make his first visit to the Parish to celebrate Mass on Sunday 10th May at 11am, marking Vocations Sunday.
8. To mark the 20th Anniversary of Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the parish there will be a Special Mass on 14th June at 5pm.  The preacher will be Fr. Joe Clavin, PP Dunshaughlin who founded Adoration in the Parish in 1989.
9. Mass for the Sick and Elderly of the Parish with Anointing of the Sick, will be celebrated on 1st July at 3pm in St. Mary’s Church.
10. The Francisean Friars of the Renewal in Limerick will hold a Youth Retreat from 24th – 26th September, 2009.
11. The Harvest Mass of Thanksgiving takes place on 4th October, 2009.
12. The Annual Mass of Bereavement takes place on Sunday, 1st November 2009.
13. A History of St Marys Church is currently being complied and will be launched in the late Autumn.
14. The Jubilee Service of Carols takes place on 20th December 2009.
